Van Gogh in Real Life...

Is this not one of the most amazing ideas?

ANS Group Europe has brought Van Gogh's A Wheatfield with Cypresses to life just outside The National Gallery in Trafalgar Square, London.

A Wheatfield with Cypresses, 1889, Vincent Van Gogh

The idea behind the commission is to draw people into the Gallery to see the real painting. The installation will remain outside the gallery until the end of October. Its made up of some 8000 plants, 25 different varieties - all flowering at different times throughout their time there. They varieties were chosen for their colours and tones to recreate the colour bands in Van Gogh's painting. It took ANS 3 days to put this installation together.
