Short&Sweet

On Tuesday I attended Short&Sweet for the first time - a night of short films and animations from around the world, screened right here in Cape Town at The Dream Factory for the month of July.

What a wonderful experience! We arrived at 18H00 - very early I thought since the first film started at 19H30 - but it seems that getting there early is part of the night. Dream Factory was bustling with first timer and old timers, buying wine or popcorn, or chicken chow mein (I wish I'd bought some now) and milling around by the bar, eyeing the seating area trying to decide - cushions or chairs?

With a glass of wine in our hands, we made our way to the front, settled down on some cushions and got comfy. We watched 10 short film some funny, some serious, some strange. It was fantastic. Our host was a bit crazy, the crowd enthusiastic and spotted with foreigners - as all Cape Town events should be.

Thanks for Michael Currin for the photos!
