Classic Chairs

When we were in 3rd year college, our first project was to design a museum for the most "Classic Chair Designs of the 20th Century"...

It was a nightmare. We had to act as designer and curator (at the discretion of our Head of Department) of this museum. We spent a lot of time in the Iziko National Gallery - sitting on the floor with A3 sketch pads, tape measures and right angles - drawing fixtures and studying how the Gallery was put together.

I think this is what our lecturers had in mind...

Vitra Haus by Herzog & de Meuron:

If Vitra had discussed this with our HOD, they wouldn't have been allowed to use half these chairs.

More on Vitra at Vitra Design Museum.
